How to use the CC

So how do I choose a licence and inform people about it?

Quite simple really. You do so by publishing your work online and choosing a license (or a combination of licences) with the free tools provided in this web site. Your work will then be marked with the freedoms you want it to carry, like for example:
No commercial use which specifies No Commercial Use.

This lets other people copy, distribute, display and perform your work freely but prohibits them from making money out of it. If they want to use it for commercial purposes, they’ll need your permission first and you might want to profit from it by asking them for some financial rewards! Here are the four conditions for usage:

Licence attribution Attribution

You must be properly credited whenever your work is being used.

No commercial use Non-commercial use

People can freely use your work as long as it is not for commercial purposes.

No Derivative No derivative works

Your work must be used strictly as it is. No alterations, transformation or building upon allowed.

Licence attribution Share alike

People may alter, transform or build upon your work, provided the resulting work carries a licence that’s identical to the original.
